Well, waves can be a little hard to style 'punk'.

I'd get so really piecy layers with some straight bangs and maybe after for it bluntly cut so it will look like your hair has more of an 'edge'. Even experiment with colors, maybe like red or blue?

Straight hair tends to be better for the whole punk scene, but long hair is so much more pretty. Stay long and stay away from punk if you want guys to really look at you. Punk is kind of a deterrent to people.

Since you're changing your style your best bet would be to go to a really good hair salon that knows what they are doing, not one of these dime a dozen places. Ask them what would look good for you face frame, just because you see a picture you like doesn't mean you'll get that look... it depends on your hair thin/thickness also. Good luck!

Keep it pretty short. Shorter than your shoulders but longer than your ears. Since your hair is fine and thin you need to create the dimension of volume. Get layers cut with a razor, this way you won't have to do much of anything with your hair, you'll have the wispy layer look and volume you need.

1.get a conair curler

2. break of the clamp

3. then like a stick curl the hair around the curler

4. leave it in for 20 seconds

5. then take it out

6. let it cool (do not pin to your head)

7. get some leave in conditioner

8. scrunch a bit to add volume

9. then get some holding wax and spray the hair

10. remember not to brush it out, it gets frizzy

use a volumizing mousse and scrunch all throughout damp (not soaking wet) hair. then blow dry with a defuzer attached to the dryer. if you don't have a defuzer just let it airdry, but it usually turns out better if you use one.

if you have fairly straight hair , then you should make sure you mousse it right after you wash it, and to avoid the crispiness then you add some leave in condtioner , use a lot of mousse ( a lot!! ) and scrunch..

this means you take strands of hair and squeeze them with your hand in an upward motion to where your roots are :)

aight, so ur hair is nappy or got BBs. u need 1) a du rag or head scarf and 2) some type of hair grease. Instructions: put a lil bit of grease (your hair shouldn't be too oily) onto your scalp, not your hair. Then try to trap the nutrients (grease) onto your head. Do this for about three weeks. Your hair should get softer and more like you want it. If your a boy, get it cut often.

ok, i'm not african american, but i got some cousins who are. they have hair just like yours, and they use Mizani shampoo and conditioner. it works for them, maybe you should give it a try. if not, consult your hairdresser, or someone you think you can trust to take good care of your hair.

pantene is loaded with too much protein which in time will break your hair which causes more fly away, frizz ease is loaded with alcohol which only dries hair out more again creating more frizz. Mizani has wonderful products. I recommend both the oil sheen spray and the Rose water. use a small amount of rose water on damp hair and work through the curls. You may use rose water as well if you want to blow out those curls to straight tame hair. After either way of styling use a light mist of sheen to finish style and add lots of shine and control to your hair. Another product that works wonders is Paul Mitchell foaming pomade. A small amount goes far as well. Work into curls wet or dry. I prefer this product dry on my clients and i twist those curls into place. Remember with any of these products to start with small amounts, they have natural oils added. This means they are highly concentrated to do the best job. Work alittle at a time until you find the right amount for your hair. Also, with ethnic hair you want to include moisture to your scalp so don't be afraid to use these products on scalp and really work them in good. Mizani and Paul Mitchell can be found in your local salon and will last you a good amount of time so don't be scared off at the price. Its worth it! Enjoy!

The braiding should have worked make sure that you use a product in it like a gel or something to give it some hold. Then the person before is right. The 3 barrell curling iron is amazing. You can get them almost everywhere. It looks like a normal curling iron but with 3 rods on it to curl rather than just the one. You would use it kind of like a crimping iron. Opening it and then clamping down on the hair, then opeing and then clamping down from root to end in sections. Gives a very nice effect. They come in different sizes for varied effects!! when you get out of the shower.... comb through your hair, with a towel try to pat out lots of water, then put some gel in your hair (not on the scalp, just the hair.) scrunch it up with your fingers and dry it upside down using a difuser on the end of your blow dryer... continuing to scrunch it up and adding more gel as you dry it. when it is 100% dry and cool, do not comb or brush it... lightly run your fingers through it like a comb.

you can buy a diffuser at any store, even something like a rite-aid or target or anything... they're not expensive and they just click onto the end of your blow dryer.

Hello. I am a guy who has kinda messy and clumped hair. I want to straighten it out and make it neater so that when I comb it to the side, it looks better. As it stands, I have hair sticking out around my sideburns and on top of my head. The only time I was satisfied with my hair was after a really windy day when my hair was blowing all around, and I came home and combed it and it was perfect. My hair felt thinner and much more manageable, but sadly I don't know how to emulate this condition.

So, any suggestions? Should I blowdry my hair (I towel dry it)? I tried blowdrying, but sometimes it makes hair stick up permanently for the day and makes everything messier. Thanks.

Try one of those gels made by BedHead or Special Effects that are meant to straighten out your hair. You can usually find them in drug stores or places like Target and Walmart. If I don't blow dry my hair, it's usually wavy. If I want it to be nice and straight, I wash my hair, rub some gel in while it's still wet and then blow dry.

I'm not sure of the exact name, but there is a shampoo and conditioner by Sunsilk (Straight and Sleek I think it's called) which will take a lot of the wave out of the hair.

My hair is thick, blonde, pretty long, and straight with a bit of a wave underneath in S-shape waves. I cannot get my hair to curl. Curling irons do nothing. I've tried the beachy waves, and they disappear within an hour. Hot rollers do the same thing -- only they disappear in half the time. Use some sort of product in your hair before you start curling it to help set the curl, then mist it with hairspray afterward. Biolage makes a product called thermal active setting spray that will keep curls set all day long...I used it on my sister's baby fine and extremely straight hair before curling it for a formal event and the curls never fell. The curling iron and hot rollers you used might not be hot enough, you might not have had it in long enough, or you've been rolling too much hair in at a time. I have always admired my friend's perfectly curled under bob, and when I saw her styling her hair one day, her curling iron was practically smoking it was so hot! If you have kinky hair, the texturizer will smooth the tight curl to form a looser curl or wavy hair.

I would say a CHI. They are probably the most expensive but are most definitly the best. My hairdresser recommended them and I love mine.

But if your going for a hair straightner thats cheap and does a good job then I would say a CONAIR.

PS:Make sure u use a protective spray before flat-ironing to prevent split ends.

I know it's expensive, but I heard it works really good. I've always wanted to do it, but I prefer just blow drying it straight with a round brush and flat ironing it after. It works really good. Just don't wash your hair for like 3 days, which is healthy for hair anyway and retouch it every morning. You would have to go to Sallys to buy some flat iron spray, so your hair won't get damaged though. My hair is curly..since I'm mixed, but when I straighten it this way it always leaves it silky smooth. When you chemically straighten it, you don't have that much variety in styling. Plus, it would drastically change the texture of your hair. Hope that helps.

I would also have a blood test to check your level of iron. Lack of iron can really affect your hair badly. Go with the flow and not against it. I have thick, curly, wavy hair and was wondering?

if anyone knew how to spike it up like a blowout (i guess like the gottis), i have a tapeup haircut but i cant seem to get it up right
