How can i make my straight hair wavy/curly?

I have bone straight hair and i can never do anything with it.

I try putting mousse in it and scrunching it (which is the effect i want without the mousse) but the waves always fall out.

Curling irons are no help either!

that's how my hair is. with curling irons too.

i braid my hair after i get out the shower and because i like to get that wet look - i put coconut oil on it.

you can use gel, if you want.

keep it in - and take it out in the morning. it'll come out nice.

Hi, a good haircut is important but the right styling products/technique can be just as important!

For the cut: I recommend lots of layers and the use of thinning techniques with a bit of razoring.

For the styling: It's important to use the right products for your hair, too. I put some lightweight gel in my hair when it's wet. Then use a little bit of styling wax while I 'finger twist/curl' small chunks of hair. Then I blow it dry for a little bit with a diffuser while scrunching the hair. A shot of hairspray helps keep it looking good all day!

It sounds like a lot of work but it's not really that much. I have thick curly/wavy hair and this works well.

Contact the chapter you're donating to and they can probably hook you up with a stylist who can make suggestions. Never having had curly hair, I can't suggest anything more.

Keep in mind that there is a minimum lenghth of hair you have to donate before Locks of Love will accept it. When I donated it was something like ten inches, so I donated 12.

The end result was that I only had enough hair for a razor bob. Which, for me, was all fine and dandy, because I wanted a style that is wash and go. (my hair is the same type as yours, SUPER thick and wavy, but I have a very coarse texture)

Generally when donating to LoL, girls with longer hair have more options for styling their hair than shorter haired girls, because they may have more left over when the minimum is donated. If you have REEEAALLY long hair, you may be able to keep your hair shoulder length, and do whatever you want to it.

wavy hair- more contol, less frizzy, can go either straight or curly with the right products, usually thicker and longer hair goes wavy than curly, natural looking and has lots of body.

curly hair- harder to manage, hard to staighten, has a mind of its own, ringlets, more bounce and springy needs more condtioner

Think of wavy as an "S" and curly like a ringlet.

Wavy hair is more like a (S) .. Curls .. are more like my hair ... Ringletts

I am currently using suave's conditioner; it works great for me. It makes my hair become more smoother, softer, and shiny. I get compliments now. = )

Frizz-Ease products by John Frieda. There is also a serum to use when flat ironing. These products work great for me

I have EXTREMELY curly hair. I used to hate my hair until I learned how to take care of it. And the only way you are going to know what shampoo you should use for YOUR hair is trial and error. What works for me or anyone else with curly hair, may not necessarly work for your hair.

However, I use Garnier Fructis-Sleek And Shine Shampoo and conditioner for frizzy, dry or unmanageable hair. and I LOVE IT!!! I also use Garnier Fructis leave in conditioner and then I use the hair gel and hair spray and I have no problems with fizzy hair. I always have beautiful perfect curls. This is what I do, I switch out my shampoo and conditioner, so my hair wont get a build up. So say I will use Garnier Fructis, and then when that bottle is empty I go to something different, I sorta like biolage, but whatever works for you. Then then I switch back and forth between the two. And I dont' blow dry my hair, I let it dry naturally and I put all my product in when it is wet. Works for me, but like I said before, its all about trial and error.

go pro. Biolage is a good line. Or if you don't want to spend that kind of money sunsilk is good too.
