I have relly wavy hair and I straighten it once evry week, Is that healthy? I dont use any products to protect I straighten every day. Protection is a good thing to do though. Biolage Shielding Shine Mist is a good one that I would recommend. Use a ceramic straightening iron. I don't think you're going to do any damage.

If you have Asian hair, Red hair, or really dark hair, you should be fine. If you have a lighter brown like me or blonde hair, you should probably use some conditoner. I use Garnier Fructis Length and Strength to repair split ends and it works really well. Also, if your hair is really long, like longer than mid-chest, you should probably protect your hair. As long as you aren't growing your hair out, you can get your hair cut every couple months to keep the damage off. Once a week with minimum protection and frequent haircuts should keep your hair looking healthy and fabulous!!

I dont use any products to protect Well if you straighten it once a week it IS better than every day but you still need to use a hair protector! Trust me I know how it is not good and I do not think you would want your hair burnt! They have some nice, clean, light, inexpensive, hair protectors @ Wal-Mart! I would so check them out! I love it so much I often use it when I am just blow-drying my hair!

At LEAST use a heat-protectant spray, that's what I do.
Makes it shiney and protects.
But really, straight hair is kinda boring.

I dont use any products to protect It is definitely not healthy to straighten your hair, but we all love how smooth and sleek our hair looks after we flat iron it. You are damaging your hair if you are not using a heat protectant. Your hair is made up of dead cells, so you can't "kill" your hair, it's already dead. Heat dries it out, so it becomes brittle and can break really easily. There are so many products on the market to help against the heat (the best irons heat up to 410 degrees). Some I recommend are Redken Heat Glide and Joico Instant Smoother. Another advantage to using a heat protectant is that your locks will stay frizz free longer! There is no reason to stop straightening your hair, just start protecting it.

I dont use any products to protect once a week doesn't cause too much damage, but you can get heat protectants from wal mart and they aren't that expensive, i would use them to protect your hair. you wouldnt want to be old and bald!
