Why are the ends of my hair tangled and wavy?

I have Asian hair that is somewhat long and naturally straight with large waves, but I have gotten it chemically straightened over the summer, back in June. So my hair is straight until the ends, where it gets tangled and strangely wavy. I don't mean just split ends; it's more like the ends of my hair are bent or crimped and so the ends of my hair always get tangled. I wash my hair once a day, usually, because otherwise it gets oily. I don't blow dry my hair (I let it air dry) or use straighteners for the most part. The only thing I can think of is the fact that after every shower, I use a wooden comb to part and comb out my hair. Is this a bad idea? I will probably just cut off the wavy ends but I'd like to know what I can do to prevent the ends of my hair from going crazy again in the future. Thanks!

You need to get them trimmed.

Your hair needs to be moisturized. Try a new conditioner and that will most likely work.

get your hair trimmed and then at least once a week deep condition your hair and soak the ends especially for like 20 mins in conditioner

your hair is really dead at the end you should get a hair cut soon before the ends spilit up farther

You need to trim your hair, you've damaged the ends. Split ends happen to anyone who doesn't get regular trims.

Don't worry, you're not alone!!

When my ends get funny like that it's time for a trim. A good salon will give you a intense moisture treatment as part of your wash cut and style.

We have the same situation!

I think you should cut your hair until it will be back in its original form.

Why are the ends of my hair tangled and wavy?

Your hair has not been chemically straightened well enough and when you do have this done you are only required to blow wave roughly so it dries straight and you are not doing this, you are ironing it which is burning your already chemically damaged hair that is why is it becoming frizzy on the ends and you also need a trim desperately. I think your hair needs more moisture too such as a leave in conditioner once a week.

Your hair is wavy because you let it air dry. All the tangles sort of move down as your hair dries. Try using a blow dryer they probably won't wave up. Personally I think it looks nice but this is your opinion were talking about. Well good luck!

Next time you get your hair cut, ask the hairdresser to give you a blunt cut. That's a straight-across cut as opposed to feathering or slithering the ends. A blunt cut will probably lay better than a layering-type of hair cut. Also, I would use a leave-in conditioner after shampooing, and when it's dry, one of those ceramic/tourmaline hair styling tools will keep it straight and help the ends behave, but you have to be careful not to crimp them. Finally, use a product that controls frizz, and just apply it to the ends of your hair. This should solve your problem. The wooden comb is fine. Have the ends of your hair trimmed just 1/4 of an inch about every six weeks. Good luck!

No, sounds like you have course hair. I too get relaxers and my ends get tangled when it's time for me to get another one. One thing about straightening relaxers that I don't know if you're aware of, is if you get one, you must continue to put them on once a month! I don't know when the last time was that you got a relaxer, but if it's been over a month, it's time for you to get another one. And if it hasn't then it must mean your hair didn't take the relaxer too well and you should get another one, but wait a week or two after you've relaxed your hair the first time, bc if you get it back to back, it can cause damage/breakage to your hair.
