I have wavy hair and would like it straighter, on a tight budget, what should i do?

Use a straightening shampoo and conditioner. Then use a straightening serum or gel. Suave makes all of these for about $1.50-$2.00 a bottle. You can get a flat iron from wal-mart for around $20-$25, just make sure that it is ceramic.

Use Crisco shortening, that should lay it down.

ceramic flat iron works best for me but they make less expensive metal ones but they are harsher on your hair so i reccomend saving up for a good one

use a flat iron or the biggest round brush you can use on your hair and blow dry it in sections. There are smoothing shampoos and conditioners too. But the flat iron works for me and I have very curyly hair.

You need GHD's!The initial expense is worth it!

I used to go to the hairdressers fo get it straightened before a night out- not i do it all by myself- have saved a fortune!

You can still use the good old blow drier and round hair brush. But most people will probably tell you to get a flat iron--particularly a ceramic one. These are the best things in the world when it comes to straightening hair. It does an excellent job, but comes with a hefty price tag. That being said, I have seen some cheaper ones that are ceramic at places like Wal-Mart and Target. Althoug a lot of those are only 1" wide and less. Which means, longer time straightening. I found a nice one at Sally's Beauty Supply that is 2 1/2" wide and was about $40.00. Trust me, it is so worth saving up for it to buy. But if you don't want to wait, then check out the ones at Wal-Mart and Target. You will be happy with your new investment. :-)

Purchase the least expensive ceramic flat iron you can find. Alternately, you can drag a curling iron (if you have one) over the top layer of your hair, in 2 -inch sections, to give a straighter appearance.
