when I curl it it looks fine when its wet but when it dries it gets puffy again and nappy, how can I keep it to have nice non-puffy curls and look shinny, not dry and nappy???
Okay, I have thick, wavy hair and it kinda puffy, what is the best way to curl my hair?
If its curling naturally you will have to try different products to seewhich holds your curl the best. My hair is similar to yours here is what worked for me
Pink Oil Moisurizer (a pink lotion that has some weight so umight not want that)
Tresseme Mouse- Wet hair put some sort of lotion and then add the mouse
Leave in conditioner- I didnt use this much cuz it doesnt work the best
Regular conditioner- My friend used to do this in the summer basically she would wet her hair and put conditioner in it... not a ton but enought that when it dried the frizz didnt come... then at night she would just rinse it and braid it up and do the same thing again next day
Some people put a texturizer in to soften the curl.... I have found hair Lotion to be the best for me.... There are different brands- I like Lusters Pink Oil ... but I sometimes use Motions

Frizz-es serum(by John Freida) is the best I can offer.
Place some gel in your hair and some mouse and frizz-es and take smaller sections of your hair and curl them between your fingers. do that all the way around your head and then let air dry.
Good luck I hope this works

straighten it, then curl. I have the same thing. If you straighten it before it calms it down.

Use Aveda's 'be curly' product. Follow the instructions on the tube. Trust me it's worth the $18. It's lasts a long time and it will give you the look you want.

use a curling iron but make sure to put a dot of gel in your hair before you curl or else it will get puffy and dry out.
